RITES HELD FOR HENRY MCMEEKIN

Funeral services for Henry McMeekin were held at 1:30 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Ewart with the Rev. Beattie in charge. Mrs. Cliff Braley and Mrs. Sheldon Copeland sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "The 23rd Psalm" accompanied by Mrs. Wm. Jeffrey.

Interment was in Pleasant cemetery. Casket bearers were Cliff Braley, James A. McCormick, Carmon Johnson, Wm. Jeffrey, Gus Wasson, and Sheldon Copeland.

OBITUARY

Henry McMeekin, son of Robert and Mary Jane McMeekin, was born near Ewart, on January 1, 1878, and passed away on April 3, 1959, at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 3 days.

On November 27, 1901, he was united in marriage with Alma Williams. For a number of years they lived on a farm, then moved to their present home in Ewart. He was employed by the county for a number of years.

At an early age Henry was united with the United Presbyterian Church in Ewart.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma, his parents, and one sister, Alma Benton.

He is survived by four sisters, Lizzie McGimpsey,of Shelby, Nebraska, Janie Wilson of Grinnell, Ellen Bruggen and Sadie Johnson of Montezuma; three brothers, James McMeekin of Grinnell, the Reverend Frank McMeekin of Vancouver, Washington, and Will McMeekin of Montezuma; one sister-in-law, Jennie McMeekin of Rock Island, Illinois; also a number of nieces and nephews and many friends who mourn his passing.
