CARL SOUTER DIES TUESDAY

Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Friday) for Carl Milton Souter, 60, of rural Ewart.

Mr. Souter died at his home Tuesday, May 30.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Steffy Funeral Home in Montezuma, Ia. The Rev. Mr. Glenn R. Dieken of Traer will officiate. Burial will be in the Masonic-IOOF Cemetery in Montezuma.

Pallbearers will be Gail Latcham, Allen Latcham, Lyle Latcham, Willard Gregson, Leonard Latcham, and Kenneth Gregson.

Music will be provided by Emil Gerard of Newton, accompanied by David Gerard, also of Newton.

Mr. Souter was the son of Robert H. and Olivia Latcham Souter. He was born southeast of Grinnell on May 31, 1911, and attended rural school at Pleasant Township No. 8 School. He worked on the home farm and on nearby farms, and was employed at the Ewart Elevator for 15 years. He was a member of the Ewart Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Souter was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister. He is survived by four brothers, Clifford of Ewart; Leonard of Brooklyn, Donald of Grinnell, and Robert of Deep River; and several nieces and nephews.
