JOE H. BRADLEY PASSES AWAY

Joe H. Bradley, a former resident of Grinnell and son-in-law of John Beeler of Grinnell, passed away at his home at Linneus, Mo., April 8. The following obituary is taken from The Bulletin at Linneus, Mo.:

Joe H. Bradley was born in Knob Lick, Ky., Aug. 13, 1874, and died Friday, April 8, 1932, being at the time of his death 57 years, 8 months and 26 days of age. On July 20, 1902, he was united in marriage to Nannie A. Beeler of Grinnell, Iowa. To this union five children were born who all grew to maturity. Since last May Mr. Bradley's health has been impaired so seriously that he was taken in December to Kansas City for a specialist's advice, which advice he followed the best he could. He spent several weeks there and seemed to improve but the longing for his home and loved ones became so strong that he returned in February to his home, where he seemed to spend so many happy hours, in spite of his afflictions. Mr. Bradley was of a lovable dispositon; his only thought was of doing good to others and especially was he fond of his home and family.

Last Sunday he suffered a heart attack and his condition became more serious day by day, and on Friday morning about 8 o'clock his spirit took its flight to the better land leaving his home and loved ones in memories and tears. His five children, all living, are Mrs. A.D. Richardson of Kansas City, Fred S. Bradley, John B. Bradley, Alma Mae Bradley and Joseph Conrad Bradley, all of whom were present to pay the last tribute to the father they loved so well.

Mr. Bradley was a man whose mind ran in the channel of higher and nobler things and he departed leaving a multitude of friends. Besides his widow and children he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Bud Lee and Mrs. Wyatt Weedon of Knob Lick, Ky., and a brother, Sidney Bradley of Liberal Kas., who were unable to be present at his funeral.

Funeral services were conducted at the Southern Methodist church in Linneus Sunday afternoon, April 10, at 2:30 o'clock, by the Rev. S.E. Botsford of Edina, Mo., and was largely attended by friends of the deceased. A male quartette furnished beautiful and appropriate music for the sad occasion. The pallbearers were six of his devoted friends: A.H. Thorne, Wm. Trippeer, O.M. Ramsey, Clem Westgate, Frank Peery and W.T. Alexander. Interment occurred in the beautiful I.O.O.F. cemetery. Thus passed this Christian gentleman into the great Beyond, secure in the affections of all who knew him.
