FUNERAL SERVICES HELD TODAY FOR GEORGE BEELER, 87

George F. Beeler, 87, of 503 Park Street, died Monday afternoon at a local nursing home following an illness of the past six months.

Funeral services were held this afternoon (Thursday) from the James-Schalinske Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald A. Rich, pastor of the Assembly of God church, officiating. Organ music was provided by Mrs. Kathleen Heffner.

Serving as pallbearers were Ed McNally, Robert Revell Sr., Paul McConnell, George Board, Lavene Kline, and Russell Koger. Interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.

The son of John S. and Ellen Beeler, he was born on Oct. 29th, 1875, in the Blue Point community southeast of Grinnell. He attended the rural schools of that community and farmed until his retirement in 1936 when he moved to Grinnell.

On Nov. 14th, 1905, at Montezuma, he was united in marriage with Margaret J. Morrison. To this union, two daughters were born: Mrs. Ralph (Clara) Reams of rural Grinnell and Mrs. Orville (Mary) Gregory at Butlersville, Ind.

In addition to his daughters, he is survived by three grandchildren, two great granddaughters, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Morrison of Aurora, Ill., and Mrs. Jane Reid of Grinnell.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, on June 17th, 1946, his parents, and four brothers and three sisters.
