IDA MAY BEELER WINDHURST

Ida May, the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Beeler, passed away Wednesday morning, August 30th, at her home in Jacob, aged 33 years, 8 months and 11 days.

She was born in Washington township, where she spent her girlhood days. After reaching her maturity she spent one year in the Marion High School, and two years at the Grinnell Academy. During these years she made many friends who share with the relatives in their sad bereavement.

On Wednesday, February 22nd, 1899, she was united in marriage to Louis Arthur Windhurst. To this union were born five children, George, aged eleven, Elsie, aged nine, Carle, aged seven, John, aged six, and Louis, aged one year. On December 1st, 1907, she was converted, and lived a consistent Christian life up to the time of her death.

On August 20th, 1911, Ida was taken sick but shared the knowledge of her illness only with her husband. Her condition was not considered serious, as she never complained of her ailments. Early on the next morning the doctor was summoned, and for a while her recovery was thought successful. Neighbors and friends assisted her during this dark period. She was conscious all the time, and always had a welcome smile for her visitors as they cme to help her pass her last days on earth. She was always jolly and happy and when the end came her face wore a look of sweet contentment. She left us without pain, and passed peacefully thru the valley of the shadow of death.

She was a devoted wife, a kind mother, and a true and loving daughter.

She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, five children, father, mother, five brothers, and four sisters. The funeral was held at her home on Sunday, September 3rd, conducted by Rev. F.M. Carpenter, of Coon Rapids, Iowa, assisted by Rev. Martin Gregson, of Marshalltown. The large attendance at her funeral showed the high esteem in which she is held in the nieghborhood.

Her remains were laid to rest in the Hazelwood cemetery.

Peaceful by thy silent slumber
Peaceful in thy grave so low;
Thou no more will join our number
Thou no more our sorrows know.
Yet again we hope to meet thee
When the day of life is fled.
And in Heaven with joy to greet thee,
Where no farewell tears are shed.

CARD OF THANKS

We wish to extend our sincere thanks to the friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us during our dark hours.
LOUIS A. WINDHURST AND FAMILY
MR. AND MRS. JOHN BEELER
