MARY MORRISON RITES CONDUCTED

Mrs. Mary E. Morrison, 88, widow of Edward S. Morrison of Aurora, Ill., died Thursday morning at Aurora.

She was born Nov. 18, 1882, in Grinnell, the daughter of John S. and Ellen Beeler. She attended rural schools near Grinnell.

On Sept. 16, 1900, she was married to Edward S. Morrison. The couple had three children--Cloide Morrison of Aurora; Edith Morrison, who died in infancy; and Clarke Morrison, who died at the age of five.

Mr. and Mrs. Morrison lived in Marshalltown for a few years after their marriage before coming to Grinnell. In the early 1920s, they moved to Lincoln, Neb., and in the early 1930s they moved to Aurora, where they operated an insurance agency. After Mr. Morrison's death in 1956, Mrs. Morrison continued to operate the agency. She was a member of the First Baptist church in Aurora and was a member of the Eastern Star in Grinnell.

She is survived by her son Cloide; her daughter-in-law Mildred Morrison; one sister, Mrs. John (Jane) Husarik of Berwyn, Ill., and Mrs. Leon (Carol Ann) Russell of Aurora; and two great-grandchildren, Mark and Susan Russell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two children; five brothers, Ira C., Orrie F., George F., John C. and L. Clarke Beeler; and three sisters, Ida May Windhurst, Nancy Alma Bradley, and Clara F. Sarych.

Funeral services for Mrs. Morrison were held Saturday in Aurora, and graveside services were held at 10 a.m. today (Monday) at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Hugh Shiveley, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating. Pallbearers were Lavone Kline, Robert Kline, Hugh McLain, Laverne Morrison, William R. Morrison and Ralph Reams. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

NOTE: She died in April 1971
