LARRY ALLBEE SERVICES
Services for 24-year-old Larry Allbee of Newton were conducted by the Rev. Clifford Croxford at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell on Saturday afternoon, January 16.
Mr. Allbee was killed instantly early Wednesday morning, Janaury 13, when the Bisom Truck Line semi-trailer truck he was driving went out of control on an icy spot on Highway 2 near Erie, Ill.
Pallbearers at the services were Gene Cupples, Clarence DeHoedt, Donald Udelhoven, Larry Lemke, Bill Ray and Harold Leavens. The organist was Mrs. Willard Heffner.
Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery with an American Legion flag presentation by W.K. Richardson and Shirley Sisco.
The son of Ray C. and Mary Marie Johnson Allbee, he was born Feb.10, 1946, in Grinnell. He attended Grinnell schools and served with the Army's Second Armored Division in Germany. He was a member of the Grinnell American Legion.
On Oct. 27, 1968, he married Dawn Bryan in Montezuma and to this union a daughter was born.
Survivors include his wife, Dawn; his daughter, Teresa Lea Allbee; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Allbee of Grinnell; a brother, Ray Allbee Jr. of Kirksville, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Sandra) Locker of Fridley, Minn., and Mrs. Charles (Patricia) Lowry of Oskaloosa; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Sadie Johnson of Montezuma; and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Josephine Frost of Grinnell.
