A.W. KNAPP
A.W. Knapp died at his home on Pearl street Sunday evening, February 9, 1919. He was born in East Bethany, N.Y., where he spent his boyhood days, coming to Grinnell when he was 19 years of age. He was married here to Miss Phoebe Chase, Dec. 10, 1881.
There were born to this union three children, Allie, George and Jay. Jay, the only surviving one, is living in Caney, Kansas, and arrived here Wednesday evening to be present at the funeral.
He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, one son and one brother, Elmer, living in New York state, who was unable to be present, and an uncle, C.K. Rich, living on West street, this city. At the time of his death, he was employed by the Spaulding Mfg. Co., and to which the relatives wish to extend sincere thanks for many kind deeds.
The funeral was held at his late home on Pearl street yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
