DEEP RIVER RITES FOR WALTER HUDSON MAY 9

Walter Hudson, 73, Poweshiek county farmer for many years, died suddenly at his home in Deep River May 6.

Funeral services were held May 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Deep River Christian church with the Rev. Ted Warren officiating. Vocalists were Kenneth and Evelyn Icenbice and were accompanied by Mrs. Clint Icenbice.

Burial was in Golden Rod cemetery with Elmer Goodlow, Elza Goodlow, William Fitzsimmons, Alfred Byers, Vesta Johnston and Henry Hutchinson serving as pallbearers.

The son of William and Millie Ann Allen Hudson, he was born Sept. 11, 1888 at Mendota, Mo. In 1913 he was married to Minnie Bond and the couple began farming in the Deep River community. In 1958 they moved into Deep River.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Fisch of Deep River; one sister, Mrs. Everett Freeborn of Montezuma and two brothers, Everett Hudson of Brooklyn and Marion Hudson of Cincinnati, Ia. He also leaves two granddaughters and five great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents and three brothers.
