MR. PARMLEY SERVICES HELD

Wendell "Pearley" Parmley, 78, of Ladysmith, Wis., formerly of Grinnell, died Sunday, June 30, at the Rusk County Care Facility in Ladysmith.

Graveside services were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rock Creek Cemetery with the Fred Phipps, elder of the Primitve Baptist Church, of Grinnell officiating. Friends may call the Smith Funeral Home for additional information.

The son of Olen and Caroline Blythe Parmley, he was born Sept. 27, 1906, in Jasper County. On June 23, 1927, he was married to Bernice Young at Newton. Following their marriage, they owned and operated the Model Lunch in Grinnell and later farmed west of Grinnell. They moved to Ladysmith in 1975 where they owned and operated a coffee shop.

Mr. Parmley was a charter member of the Victor Grange.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Robert of Ladysmith; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Cash and Hollis Parmley.
