FUNERAL SERVICES FOR JAMES STEWART

Funeral services for James Stewart were held at the Methodist church on Saturday afternoon in charge of the Rev. George Blagg. Music was rendered by a quartet, consisting of Mrs. J.H. Rowe, Miss Mary Dieterich, E.L. Dieterich and David Phillips. Burial was made in Hazelwood beside the beloved wife who passed away nearly two years ago.

James Stewart was an Irish lad who came to America when he was fifteen years of age. He located in the Ewart neighborhood and was busily employed on farms in that community. After his marriage he lived in Kansas City for a few years but returned to this vicinity and has been one of our respected and industrious citizens since. Mr. Stewart was a man of intense loyalty to his home and loved ones. This was especially marked in his attitude to his companion of the years whose death brought great sorrow to him, a sorrow which he never overcame. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and of the Bob Coutts Bible class. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Charles Fawcett and Mrs. A.B. Manson of Grinnell; two brothers, Isaac of Mitchell, S.D., and John of Audubon, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Cowan of Kansas City, Mo., and three granddaughters, Mrs. Howard Patterson of Newton, Mrs. Clifford Comstock of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Mrs. R.H. Auman of Des Moines, Iowa.
