MRS. JAMES STEWART DIES FRIDAY NIGHT

Mrs. Arabella White Stewart passed away Friday night at her home here after six days of sickness. She was thought to have passed the dangerous period and seemed to be improving Wednesday, then suffered a relapse Thursday night. She was over seventy-one years old at the time of her death.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church on Sunday afternoon in charge of the Rev. George Blagg. The hymns, "Safe In the Arms Of Jesus" and "Going Down the Valley" were sung by a quartet consisting of the Misses Flora Walker and Mary Dieterich and Messrs. E.L. Dieterich and Henry Barkelew, with Mrs. Roscoe Demptser at the piano. The pallbearers were Messrs. Will Alley, J.F. Boyce, R.G. Coutts, Geo. Lewis, Geo. C. Murray and John Rehder. Burial was made in Hazelwood.

Arabella White was born in Belmont, Ohio, July 2, 1857, and died at her home, 524 Park St., Grinnell, on Friday evening, Sept. 7, 1928, at the age of 71 years, 2 months and 6 days. She was united in marriage with James Stewart, Oct. 25, 1876, and for almost fifty-two years they walked life's way together. Two daughters were born to them, Mrs. Charles F. Fawcett and Mrs. A.B. Manson of Grinnell. They, together with three granddaughters, Mrs. R.H. Auman of Des Moines, Mrs. Howard Patterson of Newton and Miss Pauline Manson of Grinnell, and the husband sincerely mourn her decease. Mrs. Stewart united with the Methodist church in Grinnell under the pastorate of Dr. Walter P. Stoddard and maintained her faith and loyalty to her Saviour and the church. Mrs. Stewart was a very kindly woman and was devotedly attached to her loved ones. She had that cheery smile and greeting for her friends that showed a happy spirit. She will be greatly missed by all. Three brothers also survive her, Will White, D.F. White of Grinnell and T.J. White of Vernon, Colorado.
