BERTHA FAWCETT FUNERAL SERVICES HERE WEDNESDAY

Mrs. Bertha Jane Fawcett, 85, of Grinnell, died Sunday evening at a local hospital following an illness of three months.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday from the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Chester E. Custer, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Interment will be in Hazelwood cemetery.

Born Nov. 22nd, 1877, near Ewart, she was the daughter of James and Arabella White Stewart. A lifetime resident of the Grinnell-Ewart area, she attended the Ewart schools and in 1896, in Grinnell was united in marriage with Charles Fawcett.

Two daughters were born to this union: Marie, who died in 1944, and Dorotha, who died at age 19.

Survivors include a brother-in-law, A.B. Manson of Grinnell; a son-in-law, Rhee Auman of Grinnell; two nieces, Mrs. Howard Patterson of Newton and Mrs. Pauline Dennis of Grinnell. Several cousins also survive.

Mrs. Fawcett was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, in 1951; her two daughters; and her sister, Mrs. A.B. Manson, in 1958.

She was a member of the Methodist church.
