Raymond Earl Dunton was born near Brooklyn, Iowa, May 13, 1891, and died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Dunton, Brooklyn, Iowa, early Monday morning, April 29, 1918, aged 26 years, 11 mos. and 16 days.

He grew to manhood on his father's farm near Brooklyn. On Nov. 12, 1913, he was married to Miss Ethel Wolford. Their home was blessed with three children, Elta, aged 4, Wayne, a little more than one year old and Arlene of but five months.

He united with the Methodist church at the Fairmount appointment on the Malcom charge when he was a boy twelve years of age. He was a member of the order of K. of P. For three years he has worked in a garage and for the last year has been in business for himself.

His battle for life was against pneumonia and his sickness has covered the last five weeks. He seemed to have mastered the disease but was too weak to make the final recovery. His call came about midnight Sabbath evening or Monday morning, when he quietly went to sleep. He leaves to mourn his loss the wife, the three children, the father and mother, one brother, Delbert, and five sisters: Ollie, Mrs. J. Ammann, Mrs. Clifford Gross, Mrs. Elzie Goodlow and Josephine. The sympathy of the community goes out to this bereaved family in this their hour of sorrow.

Funeral services were held in Grace M.E. church, conducted by Rev. J.W. Pool. Interment to I.O.O.F. cemetery.
