PEARL HAINES SERVICES HELD

Pearl M. Haines, 83, of Grinnell died Sunday morning, March 8, at St. Francis Manor.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home with Ron Anderson, pastor of the Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Brooklyn.

The daughter of James W. and Mary Kennell Otto, she was born April 3, 1897, in Brooklyn. She attended Brooklyn schools.

In 1913, she was married to Andrew J. Haines at Montezuma. Following their marriage, the couple farmed near Brooklyn. In the early 1930s the family moved to Grinnell.

Mrs. Haines was a member of the Church of Christ in Grinnell.

She is survived by her children, Wallace Haines of Montezuma, John Haines of Sigourney, Fern Freeborn of Grinnell, William Haines of Grinnell, Betty Kelm of rural Grinnell, Catherine Akers of Grinnell and Ray Haines of Gilman. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, a half-brother, and three children.
