LODI G. BALTISBERGER

A funeral service was held Saturday, May 26 at 1:30 p.m. at Watts Funeral Home, Montezuma for Lodi G. Baltisberger. Officiating was Rev. Dr. Lyle Cook, International Bible Student Association, Kansas City, Mo.

Casket-bearers were Jon Larsen, Gale Douglass, Jack Baltisberger, Irvy Badger, Stan Van Gorp, and Gerald Baltisberger. Interment was in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Malcom, Iowa.

Lodi G. Baltisberger, daughter of Joseph D. and Minerva Judd Carpenter, was born on April 10, 1888 at Malcom, and passed away on May 24, 1984 at Story County Hospital in Nevada, IA at 96 years of age.

She was graduated from Malcom High School in 1908. She taught school for a short time before her marriage with I.J. Baltisberger Jan. 31, 1912 at her parents' home near Malcom. They made their home north of Malcom until moving to their farm south of Malcom in 1928. She cared for her sister Vera Lowman for several years at Ames. She later made her home with Mr. and Mrs. John (Odessa) Douglass at Malcom. She has been a resident of Oak Park Care Center in Nevada since February, 1984.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, I.J. on Jan. 21, 1949; son-in-law John Douglass and eight brothers and sisters.

Lodi is survived by her children and their families: Odessa Douglass of Grinnell; Mr. and Mrs. Ronald (Gladys) Baltisberger of Malcom; Mr. and Mrs. George (Lois) Van Gorp of Spirit Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Howard (Edna) Badger of Roland and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur (Darlene) Baltisberger of Malcom; one foster son, Frank Montel of Country Club Hill, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
