LUCILLE PEARCE MEMORIAL HELD

Lucille E. Pearce, 64, of Rte. 1, Grinnell, died Saturday evening, Sept. 10, at Grinnell General Hospital.

A memorial service was conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Grinnell First Baptist Church, with Robert Hendrix, Christian Education director for the church, officiating. Organist was Edward Bohstedt.

Burial was at Westfield Cemetery south of Grinnell. Memorials in Mrs. Pearce's name may be made to the First Bapatist Church.

The daughter of Eldon C. and Hazel Wiley Hall, she was born Dc.10, 1918, near Brooklyn. The family moved to the Grinnell area, and she graduated from Grinnell High School.

On Dec. 10, 1937, she was married to Harold G. Pearce in Grinnell. The couple farmed in the Grinnell and Malcom areas and later operated the Pearce Implement Co. here. They returned to farming southeast of Grinnell, retiring in 1973.

Mrs. Pearce was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Isabel Brande Guild of the church. She was also a member of the neighborhood community club.

She is survived by her husband, Harold; her children, Karen Marquardt of Seattle, Wash., and Kenneth D. Pearce of rural Grinnell; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter.
