MRS. JOSEPH AMMANN

Alma Beryl, daughter of Willard and Mary Dunton, was born near Guernsey August 9, 1883, and died at her home in Montezuma Dec. 9, 1963, following a short illness. While still a small child, with her parents she moved to a farm south of Brooklyn where she grew to womanhood. She attended the nearby country school, also high school in Brooklyn. After completing her education she taught in the public schools for several years.

On Feb. 12, 1907 she was married to Joseph S. Ammann and they established their home in Scott township where they lived until his death in 1935. They were the parents of four children, one of whom, Willard Joseph, preceded her in death.

Those remaining are Mrs. Helen Johnston, Mrs. Margaret Peters and Edward M. Ammann, all of Montezuma. She also leaves six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, one brother, Delbert Dunton of Plymouth and three sisters, Miss Olive Dunton of Montezuma, Mrs. Elza Goodlow of Deep River, and Mrs. Sidney Mathisen of Lehigh Acres, Fla. One sister, Mrs. Cliff Gross, and one brother, Earl Dunton, preceded her in death.

In 1936 she moved to the home of her parents in Brooklyn and assisted in their care in their declining years. After their death she acquired a home in Montezuma where she lived the rest of her life. She was a member of the Methodist Church since childhood and served as a teacher in Sunday Schools for 40 years.

Funeral services were held December 11 at the Montezuma Methodist church with the Rev. Frank Jacobs officiating. Alice Underwood was organist. Pallbearers were Dale Johnston, Clifford Hicks, Howard Hicks, Alfred Byers, Dave Loftin and Walter Hockey.
