RITES SET FOR MRS. STRASSER

Cretia Strasser, 92, of Grinnell died Tuesday morning, Feb. 25, at Friendship Manor.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home, with Elder C.D. Talbert of the Liberty Primitive Baptist Church and Elder Fred Phipps of Grinnell officiating. Organist will be Edward Bohstedt, and pallbearers will be Harold Haines, William A. Kiesey, Howard May, Mike Mintle, Ross Mintle, Steve Mintle and Olaf Young. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.

She was the daughter of General Washington and Laura Young Adkins and was born on Aug. 1, 1893, in Rock Creek Township, Jasper County. She attended rural school.

She was married to Frank Stinson, who preceded her in death. On Jan. 5, 1935, she was married to Roy Strasser in Grinnell, where Mrs. Strasser worked at the former Goff Bakery.

She is survived by a step-daughter, Marilyn Louise King of Des Moines; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her first and second husbands; one brother, Cash Adkins; and two sisters, Statia Ray and Corda Haines.
