The Montezuma Republican (Montezuma, Iowa) Sept. 4, 1913

Mary A. Shull was born in Tuscarawas county, Ohio, March 25, 1832. She was united in marriage with Joel Dunton, May 12, 1850. She was the mother of nine children, four sons and five daughters, five of whom are living, three sons and two daughters, Willard, Wesley, Frank and Minnie all of Brooklyn, and Mrs. Charles Benson, of Kellogg. There are thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She, with her husband, settled upon a farm in this county later removing to South Brooklyn where they resided until death. Her husband preceded her in death three years ago.

Previous to their removal to this place, they were members of the Moravian church, but in 1899 united with the Brethren church at this place--Chronicle.
