VAN DEE
Frederick Eugene Van Dee, 65, of Deep River died Sunday, Aug. 23, 1998 at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Aug. 26 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in North English with Rev. John Whalen officiating. Burial was in the Armah Cemetery near North English.
Music was by organist Betsy Pilkington.
Casket bearers were David Van Dee, Marion Van Dee, Jerry Van Dee, Leland Hadsell, Richard Hadsell and Mike Roberts.
Frederick was born in Iowa County April 12, 1933, the son of John E. and Maude Henry Van Dee. He attended rural Bunker Hill School and Millersburg Grade and High School. He was married to Audrey Fairchild and later divorced.
Frederick lived most of his life in Keokuk and Iowa Counties working as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Joseph in infancy and Robert Van Dee.
He is survived by a son, James Van Dee and his finace, Tammy Kempf, of George; grandsons, Terry James Van Dee and Michael Lee Kuester; Tammy's sons, Gary and Aaron Kempf; two sisters, Frances Pilkington of North English and Barbara Volk of Waupaca, Wis.; and a brother, John Pat Van Dee of Union City, Pa.
