LEO E. DUNTON
Leo Eugene Dunton, son of Frank P. and Clara Baker Dunton, was born June 10, 1891, in Brooklyn and died Sept. 13, 1966, at Community hospital in Grinnell. He had lived all of his life in this community.
He attended Brooklyn public schools, graduating with the class of 1909, and attended the University of Iowa, Iowa City, where he graduated in 1913. For many years he had been associated in the coal and feed business in Brooklyn, first with his father and later managing the business himself.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Dunton, with whom he had made his home. He also leaves a niece, Mrs. Don (Mildred) Sowerwine of Grinnell, a great nephew, Robert John Sowerwine of New Orleans, La. and two great-great nephews, Robert and Jeffrey Sowerwine.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, Sept. 16, at 2:00 p.m. at Bramer Funeral Home in charge of Rev. C.W. Woollard, pastor of Grace Methodist church. Leo Shuler was organist.
Burial was in I.O.O.F. cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Robert Sowerwine, Jess Meredith, Leffert McIlrath, L.H. Van Zee, Kenneth Gross and Walter Tinkle. Flower attendatns were Mrs. Ed Burk, Mrs. L.H. Van Zee and Mrs. Leffert McIlrath.
