--Edward Sanger was born at Woolwich, England, June 14, 1826. At an early age he entered the English army, in which service he spent some ten years of his life. In 1851 he was married to Miss Sarah Turner, of Birmingham, England. Two years later he moved with his family to America, and after brief sojourns in Philadelphia and in Wisconsin, they moved to Oskaloosa, Iowa, in 1859. A few years later he moved to a farm in Sugar Grove, Jasper Co. Iowa, where the family resided for thirteen years. In 1876 he removed to Searsboro and continued to reside in that place until about two years ago, when after a brief sojourn with a daughter in Cedar Rapids, they moved to Grinnell, more than a year ago, residing with their daughter, Mrs. William M. *Firebaugh, on Fourth Ave. Eight children have been born to Mr. and Mrs. Sanger, of whom three, two sons and a daughter, survive. Mr. Sanger died of a cancer, on Tuesday. His funeral was held from the Baptist church Wednesday afternoon. Rev. G.M. Adams officiated. Prof. Macy, a member of the same company in the union army, gave a biographical sketch of Mr. Sanger. Mr. Sanger served in Co. K, of the 10th Iowa Regiment, in the late war, during the years of 1864 and 1865. The pall bearers were Messrs. A.J. Blakely, B.V. Ruff, Wm. Bortelle, W.O. Willard, I.B. Baldwin and G.T. Frye.
