On Monday evening at Malcom, T.R. Lamb passed away after a week's illness. He was not considered dangerously ill till the evening before he died. He was born in Greene county, Ohio, Aug. 16, 1841, from which place he moved with his parents in 1848 to Bureau county Ill., where he enlisted in the U.S. army at Chicago, June 14, 1862, as a private in Co. A. 69th Reg. Vol. infantry. He was married in the year of 1865 to Miss Rachael Humes, of Keokuk county, Iowa, where they lived until 1884, when they moved to their present home five miles north of Malcom. To this union were born twelve children--seven boys and five girls, two boys are deceased, leaving ten children and a beloved wife to mourn the sad loss of father and husband, who departed form this life at 10:20 a.m., Oct. 29, 1899, aged 58 years, 2 months and 13 days. He was a member of the Christian church at What Cheer. The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock, conducted by Rev. R.W. Taylor. The services at the grave were in charge of Drake Post, G.A.R., of Brooklyn.
