BLANCHE HISER RITES PENDING

Blanche Ruth Hiser, 45, of Iowa City, formerly of Grinnell, died Thursday evening at University Hospitals in Iowa City. She had been in failing health for some time.

The daughter of Jacob and Mable Reeson Blankenfeld, she was born Nov. 10, 1928, in Grinnell. She was graduated from Grinnell High School and later attended the University of Iowa, receiving her bachelor's and master's degrees. She later worked at Clarinda State Hospital as a psychiatric social worker, retiring when her health failed. For the past three years, she had been confined to her home in Iowa City.

Survivors include her son, Vincent G. Hiser of Iowa City; one brother, Ernest R. Blankenfeld of Grinnell; two sisters, Mrs. Brook (Grace) Lamb of Grinnell and Mrs. Joyce Wilbourn of Iowa City; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Charles (Eleanor) Ogden of Newton and Mrs. James (Ruby) Walter of Des Moines.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hiser are pending at the Smith Funeral Home, where friends may call for additional information.

BLANCHE HISER SERVICES HELD

Funeral services for Blanche Ruth Hiser, 45, of Iowa City, formerly of Grinnell, who died Thurday, Aug. 29, in Iowa City, were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home.

The Rev. Marcus E. Reitz, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, officiated. Organist was Mrs. Marvin Amo, and pallbearers were Bruce Blankenfeld, Richard Blankenfeld, Michael Ogden, Leslie Routier, Brian Walter and James Walter.

Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.
