BETTY JANTZEN DIES IN TEXAS
Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Jantzen, Fort Worth, Texas, died Saturday, Jan. 23, at a Fort Worth hospital.
Mrs. Jantzen was born June 3, 1918, in Grinnell to Francis and Adelaide (Downing) Donahue. She attended local schools and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1937. She was employed by the Poweshiek County Welfare Office until she moved to California where she was an executive secretary for Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach. In 1944 she was married to Paul K. Jantzen in a ceremoney at the Mount Vernon Place Methodist Church in Washington, D.C. They returned to Grinnell in 1945.
Mrs. Jantzen was employed at Grinnell College and St. Francis Hospital where she was business manager until it merged with Community Hospital. She was active in the Grinnell United Methodist Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Jantzen moved to Fort Worth in February 1976, following Mr. Jantzen's retirement from Grinnell Mutual Reinsurance Company.
In Fort Worth Mrs. Jantzen was a member of Overton Park United Methodist Church where she served on the administrative board, was past president of Weslelyan Women, secretary of United Methodist Women, a circle leader, and a member of the Harris (Methodist) Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Jantzen was also past president of Penelope Club of the Women's Club of Fort Worth.
She is survived by her husband, Paul K. Jantzen, two daughters, Joan, Mrs. Woodrow Wells and Janet, Mrs. Carl W. Haggerty and two grandchildren.
