GRACE O. LAMB
Grace O. Lamb, 65, of 1313 Spring St., Grinnell, died of complications of lupus Thurday, Sept. 21, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Epperson of the Grinnell Christian Church officiating. Organist was Jolene Jones, and pallbearers were Richard Blankenfeld, Rod Carlson, Bob Lamb, David Lamb, Denny Lamb, Steve Lamb and Jim Seehorn. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.
Memorials in Mrs. Lamb's name may be left at the funeral home.
The daughter of Jacob Ferdinand and Mabel Reeson Blankenfeld, she was born Oct. 11, 1923, at Niobra, Neb. At the age of 4 she moved with her family to Grinnell. She attended Grinnell schools, graduating from Grinnell High School in 1942.
She was married to Brook Young Lamb June 25, 1942, at Lancaster, Mo. The couple continued to live in Grinnell. During World War II Mrs. Lamb worked at Maytag in Newton, later working for DeLong Sportswear. For 17 years she was employed by GTE, retiring 10 years. ago.
She was a member of the Grinnell Christian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband, Brook; a daughter, Linda Routier of Grinnell; one son, Larry Lamb of Mesa, Ariz.; five grandchildren; one great-grandddaughter; a brother, Ernest Blankenfeld of Grinnell; and two sisters, Joyce Wilbourn of Iowa City and Ruby Walter of Cheyenne, Wyo. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Dorothy Blankenfeld in infancy, Blanche Hiser and Eleanor Ogden.
