RUTH LAMB, 91
Ruth O. (Lamb) Lamb, 91, of Grinnell died Jan. 30, 2002, at Montezuma Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of heart failure.
Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 2, at Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with the Rev. John Epperson officiating. Pallbearers were Craig Arendt, Jack Arendt, Rex Baker, Bud Doane, Ronnie Grier, and Kevin Lamb, Leonard Lamb and Steven Lamb. Honorary bearers were Barbara Baker, Carla Doane and Sandy Grier. Burial was at Ivy Hill Cemetery in Malcom. Memorials are to the Ruth O. Lamb Memorial Fund.
The daughter of Dorr Leslie and Nell May Brown Lamb, Ruth was born May 8, 1910, in Marshalltown, She was raised in Marshalltown and was a graduate of Marshalltown High School. She attended Iowa State University and later a business college in Marshalltown. She married Earl F. Lamb Feb. 15, 1932, in Kansas City, Mo. The couple farmed near Malcom and later Brooklyn. They moved to Grinnell in 1967. She moved to Montezuma Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in April 2001. She was a member of the Malcom United Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Rebekah Lodge in Malcom. She was also a former 4-H leader.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Arendt of Montezuma; two sons, Darrel Lamb of Grinnell and Sid Lamb of Malcom; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death.
