GERALD BOLEN RITES HELD HERE TUESDAY

Gerald Bolen, 62, died Saturday night in a Grinnell hospital, a victim of cancer. He has been hospitalized for three months.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afernoon at two o'clock at Bramer Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. Newell E. Davis, pastor of the First Congregational church in Grinnell. Mrs. Ed Bartachek was organist.

Interment was in Ivy Hill cemetery at Malcom with the following serving as pallbearers: Don Sparks, Leo Ahrens, Keith Downey, John Higdon, A.B. Hamilton and Truman Heishman. Flower assistants were Mr. and Mrs. Ross Ramsey, Mrs. Truman Heishman and Mr. and Mrs. Faye Wasson.

The son of the late William and Sylvia Lamb Bolen, Gerald Landis Bolen as born August 3, 1903, in Madison township. He had been employed by the State Highway Commission for 46 years.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; a son, William Bolen of Montezuma; two grandchildren; a step-son, Danny Agnew, a student at State College of Iowa; and a brother, Verner Bolen of Grinnell.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ephraim and Michael, and a sister, Gladys.
