ALFRED BOLEN DIES SUDDENLY
(From The Brooklyn Chronicle)

Alfred Willis Bolen died very suddenly Sunday evening following an injury received from a pitchfork some time ago. The Bolens have been living on the Andrew Davidson place for some years. Mrs. Bolen and five children survive him. They are Mrs. Mildred Besick, Mrs. Gertrude Billick, Mrs. Elsie Carter, Darlene and Maxine at home.

A.W. Bolen was born in Antelope county, Nebraska, April 27, 1888, the son of Frank and Barbara Weaver. He was the eleventh of twelve children. His mother died when he was four years old. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Bolen, the parents of William Bolen of Grinnell took the little boy shortly after his mother's death. When he was seven years old Mr. and Mrs. William Bolen took him and made his home with them until he was married. He was married January 20, 1909, to Miss Alice Willett, at Kewanee, Ill. They have lived in this vicinity ever since.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. E.W.F. Holler and interment was in the Brooklyn cemetery.
