DIED SUNDAY EVENING;
FUNERAL WEDNESDAY

William Lewis Lamb, better known as "Bert," died at 9:15 p.m. Sunday at his home, 305 Fifth avenue, aged 79 years, 5 months and 23 days. He had been in failing health for several years. Mr. Lamb, a retired farmer, moved here from Malcom nine years ago. He had farmed for 60 years on the same farm before moving to Grinnell.

Mr. Lamb was born March 15, 1873 at What Cheer, the son of Tobias and Rachel Humes Lamb. On Dec. 15, 1910, he was united in marriage with Emma Schultz, who survives him. Surviving are four sons, Fay W. Lamb, Lavern W. Lamb and Merle Lamb of Grinnell and Shirley Lamb of Emmetsburg and two daughters, Mrs. Stanley Pals of Thornton and Mrs. Wayne Smith of Malcom.

Also survivng are three sisters, Mrs. Addie Mehlin of Waterloo, Mrs. Myrtle Jantzen of Grinnell and Mrs. Sadie Kensinger of Malcom and a brother, Harrison Lamb of Grinnell.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith funeral home in charge of Rev. Donald Loots. Burial will be in Ivy Hill cemetery in Malcom.
