VIOLA MAY LAMB

Viola May Lamb, 76 years of age, passed away July 11, 1960, at a Grinnell hospital. She had been ill for nearly a year, following her suffering of a broken hip last summer.

She was the daughter of J.F. and Frances Eisele, and was born in Poweshiek County on May 13, 1884. She lived all of her life in this county and most of it in Madison Township. After attending local schools, she graduated from the Malcom High School.

On February 24, 1905, she was married to Ephraim E. Lamb, and one son was born to this union. Mr. and Mrs. Lamb spent their lives in farming, and later she lived with her mother and brother until their deaths. She was active in her church, the Eastern Star and was a Rebekah for over 50 years.

Mrs. Lamb was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Grover Eisele.

She is survived by her son, Earl Lamb and his family at Brooklyn, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Lester Schneekloth, Malcom, Iowa, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral services were held at the Bramer Funeral Home in Brooklyn on July 14th, with the Rev. C.E. Kingsley of Grinnell and Rev. E.W.F. Holler of Brooklyn, officiating.

Graveside services were conducted by the Rebekah Lodge. Interment was in Ivy Hill cemetery at Malcom.
