JOHN J. LAROS, 76, DIES SUDDENLY IN LONG BEACH, CALIF.

John Joseph Laros, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Laros and brother of Gerald Laros of this city, died suddenly of a heart attack Aug. 4 at his home in Long Beach, Calif., aged 76 years.

He is survived by his wife, two brothers, Gerald of Grinnell and Fred of Hart, Mich., and four sisters, Sadie, Mrs. Fred Lorish of Sacramento, Calif., Ruth, Mrs. Carl Kline of Sacramento, Naomi, Mrs. Ray Goodrich of Long Beach, Calif., and Helen, Mrs. Charles Freyman of Allentown, Pa. Burial was in Long Beach.

Born in Lisbon, Iowa, Nov. 13, 1877 he came to Grinnell with his parents in 1889. He attended Grinnell schools and Cornell college for two years. In 1897 he went into business with his father and his brothers, Charles and Fred in the Laros Buggy Co.

On Dec. 12, 1912, he was united in marriage with Kate Miller of Postville, a graduate of Grinnell college who was a teacher in the Grinnell schools.

In 1916 Mr. and Mrs. Laros moved to California where Mr. Laros worked at his trade of upholsterer. He had filled an unexpired term as mayor of Grinnell.
