MRS. CARL CARLSEN BURIED SUNDAY

Lizzie Wylie was born in Ballymena, County Antrim Ireland, December 14, 1870.

At the age of three years she moved to Glasgow, Scotland with her parents where she resided until 1892 when she came to America with her parents and settled on a farm in Poweshiek county, north of Brooklyn. She was a member of the Christian Church in Madison township.

On February 23, 1898 she was united in marriage to Carl Carlsen. They started housekeeping on a farm north of Brooklyn. About nineteen years ago they moved to the farm south of Brooklyn where she lived until her death.

She passed away December 25 after a lingering illness of several months, aged 55 years, 1 week and 3 days.

She was a true and devoted mother and wife and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, five children, Harold, George, Hazel, Verna and Leslie, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Wylie of Belle Plaine, Iowa, one sister, Mrs. Anna O'Brien of Chicago, Illinois, three brothers, James and Alex Wylie both of Chicago and Robert Wylie of Corvallis, Oregon besides a host of friends and other relatives.

The funeral was held Sunday, December 27, at the Methodist church, services conducted by Rev. W.J. Fowler. Interment was made at the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
