RITES HELD FOR MRS. PARROTT

Blanche Parrott, 91, died Sunday morning, July 29, at the Mayflower Home in Grinnell.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert C. Smith officiating. Organist was Edward Bohstedt. Pallbearers were Vern Brooke, Harold Brown, Donovan Evans, Wilbur Osland, Clayton Tew and Willard Wells. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Memorials in Mrs. Parrott's name may be made to the First Baptist Church.

The daughter of Stephen A. and Mary Amanda Musselman Threlkeld, she was born Oct. 25, 1893, near Liberty Center. She graduated from Chariton High School.

On June 28, 1914, she was married to J.C. Parrott at Corydon. The couple lived in Chariton and Corydon before coming to Grinnell in 1920.

Mrs. Parrott was a member of the Grinnell First Baptist Church. She was a deaconess, past president of the Isabella Brande Guild, and taught Sunday School for over 50 years. She also served as superintendent of the primary department of the Sunday School.

She was a charter member of the Razelle Club and a member of the Pythian Sisters. For several years she was employed at C.A. Blair's merchantile store, Regner and Rule's merchantile store, Marge's Fabric Shop and Estey's Fabric Shop.

She is survived by her husband; one son, James G. of Loveland, Colo.; one brother, Ross Threlkeld of Maxwell; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
