MRS. MINA GRAHAM RITES HELD SATURDAY

The Rev. C.O. Whitely, pastor of the First Friends church, conducted funeral services at Smith funeral home Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Willomina Graham, 81, widow of Eli Graham who died Thursday morning in her home at 903 Pearl street.

Music was by Mrs. Rhee Auman, organist, and Mrs. Fred McDowell and Mrs. Russell Sams. On the flower committee were Mrs. Catherine Graham, Loretta Graham, Eulice Graham, Mrs. Naomi Gerard, and Mrs.Verleen Parrott.

Pall bearers were Duane Graham, Eldon Gerard, George Graham, Vernon Graham, John Graham and Gordon Parrott. Interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.

OBITUARY

Willomina Hoover Graham, daughter of John D. and Mary Herdman Hoover, was born in Jasper county, Iowa, Jan. 17, 1873, and passed away at her home in Grinnell, May 13, 1954 at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 26 days.

She was married to Eli Graham, Nov. 15, 1893, near Searsboro, Iowa. He passed away Jan. 6, 1933.

Three children were born to this union: Ethel, Mrs. M.C. Brooks, of Grinnell, Elsie, Mrs. E.J. Dielman of Creston, and Earl, of Grinnell. These all survive.

She attended the rural schools in Jasper county and was a member of the Bethel Methodist church, having her membership transferred to the Grinnell Methodist church after moving to Grinnell.

During her married life she lived on the farm nine miles south of Grinnell but after the death of her husband she moved to Grinnell where she has spent the rest of her days.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Will and Jesse Hoover, and her sisters, Dora Norman and Hattie Emery. One sister, Lila Sparke, of Cedar Falls and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Jessie Hoover of this city and Mrs. Mattie Ferson of Des Moines, are still living.

Of her immediate family the following descendants survive: the three children mentioned above, also the grandchildren, Mrs. Naomi Gerard of Brooklyn, Mrs. Verleen Parrott of Grinnell, Eulice Graham of Des Moines and Vernon, George, Loretta and Duane Graham of Gilman.

There are four great grandchildren, Lavonne and Linda Gerard, and Richard and Sharon Parrott.
