MR. MILLGATE SERVICES TODAY

Oliver C. Millgagte, 86, of Rte. 1, Grinnell, died Saturday afternoon at Grinnell General Hospital. He had been in failing health the past few months.

Funeral services for Mr. Millgate were held at 2 p.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Carl Klein, pastor of the Bethel Methodist Church and the Rev. Morris Hay, pastor of the Hickory Grove E.U.B. Church, officiating. Burial was at the Bethel Cemetery.

The son of George and Roxie Foster Millgate, he was born June 8, 1889, in Jasper County. He attended rural schools near his parents' home. On June 2, 1920, he was married to Inez Breeden at Newburg. The couple had one daughter.

Mr. Millgate was a member of the Jasper County Farm Bureau. He had farmed in the Bethel community for the past 55 years.

Survivors include his wife, Inez; his daughter, Marilyn Peery of Grinnell; and one brother, Verner Millgate of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Sylvester Millgate; and a sister, Mrs. V.V. (Maria) Hamilton.
