MRS. GEORGE MILLGATE FUNERAL WEDNESDAY

Services Were Conducted From Bethel Church by Rev. W.J. Todd.

Roxy Foster was born August 27, 1861 at Pleasant View, Jasper County, Iowa., where she lived all her life until about a year ago she moved to Grinnell.

On August 17th, 1883 she was married to George Millgate who preceded her in death, August 11, 1901. To this union were born four children of whom all were at the mother's side when she passed away Monday afternoon, December 10. They are as follows: Sylvester of Brooklyn, Ia., Oliver, who lives on the homestead, Maria of Grinnell and Verner of Boone, Iowa.

Mrs. Millgate came from a large family of six boys who are living in Oklahoma and three girls. One sister is Mrs. Mary Simmons of Grinnell and the other is Mrs. Lydia Meredith of Avoca, Iowa.

Since coming to Grinnell, Mrs. Millgate has been a great sufferer confined most of the time to her bed but she has borne it all with a beautiful Christian fortitude and her neighbors and friends speak in the very highest terms of her heroic spirit. She was conscious to the very last giving testimony of her faith in her Saviour and of having no fear of death.

The funeral was held at Bethel Methodist church where Mrs. Millgate held her church membership, and was conducted by Rev. W.J. Todd. The large congregation and the many beautiful flowers were other evidences of the high esteem in which she was held by all who knew her.
