GEORGE MILLGATE

George Millgate was born at Birchington in the county of Kent, England, October 6, 1849. He died August 11, 1901, aged 51 years, 10 months and 6 days. He emigrated to America in 1875. He was married to Miss R. Foster, daughter of Robert Foster of Richland township, Jasper county, on the 14th of August, 1884, that is, 17 years ago on the day he was buried. To this union there were born four children, three boys and a girl. He was honest and industrious and by his frugal living had secured for himself and family a good home. He was buried in the Bethel church cemetery. His funeral services were held at the house and in the church, where a sermon was preached to a large and attentive congregation by the Rev. T. Richardson.
