The Grinnell Herald (Grinnell, Iowa) Sept. 18, 1903

MRS. RICHARD LUNN

Ruth A. Turner was born in Dewitt county, Ill., July 26, 1837, and died at home in this city Sept. 10, 1903, aged 66 years, one month and four days.

She was married to Richard Lunn at Wapello, Ill., Feb. 18, 1856.

To this union were born six children, two having preceded her to the better world, Perthena Lunn Wilson and George D. Lunn.

The four surviving are Mrs. Clara E. Whitehead of Ill., Mrs. Harriet L. Ditzler and Anna Lunn of this city and John H. Lunn of Tama.

Mr. and Mrs. Lunn moved from Illinois to Iowa in Oct., 1868, settling near Lynnville where they resided about five years, moving from there to Tama in 1873 where they made their home, until in February, 1889, they moved to this city.

Mrs. Lunn has been an almost constant sufferer from asthma for many years, but she was patient through all her suffering to the very last and always greeted her friends with a smile and a kind word.

She was a lover of flowers and has read a great many good books.

A life of suffering is ended,
A voice we loved is stilled.
A place in our hearts left vacant,
Which by another cannot be filled.

The funeral services were conducted from the house at 11 o'clock a.m. last Satruday by the Rev. W.W. Woodburn, assisted by the Rev. G.P. Fisher.

CARD OF THANKS

The relatives wish to thank the many friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted them in their bereavement.
