WAYNE CALVIN

Wayne F. Calvin, 88, formerly of North English, died June 11, in Marion after a long illness. Services were June 14 at Powell Funeral Home, North English, with burial in Golden Rod Cemetery, Deep River.

Survivors include a son, Harvey, of Oskaloosa; a brother, Harold and wife Gertrude of Center Point; two sisters, Verva Vandecar of Omaha, Nebr., and Edna Doughtery of Denver, Colo.; three granddaughters; seven great grandchildren; eight nieces and nephews; numerous cousins; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; stepmother, Mattie; a brother, Dean; and a sister, Ruth Edens.

Wayne was born near North English Feb. 3, 1906, the son of J.F. Calvin and Eva Mae Fry Calvin and married Dorothy G. Morrison Dec. 24, 1925. She died Jan. 29, 1980. They farmed near Sigourney and later What Cheer until retiring to North English in 1975.

Wayne began the practice of reflexology in 1955 and was popularly known as "The Toe Doctor."
