AN OBITUARY OF MRS. WARD SHOPE

Bessie M. Stewart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Stewart, was born March 28, 1900, in the Bethel community near Grinnell, Iowa, and passed away Dec. 9, 1932 in the Community hospital at Grinnell at the age of 32 years, 9 months and 11 days. She received her education in the Grinnell schools, graduating with the class in 1920. She taught school three years, one year in Sully and two years in Sheridan. She united with the M.E. church in Grinnell in her youth and continued in the faith through life.

In 1923 she was united in marriage with H. Ward Shope of Sheridan, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Wesley and Shirley. She leaves to mourn her passing her loving husband and two children, her father and mother, four brothers and two sisters and a host of friends.

She was a member of the Ladies Aid, and was always active and interested in all activites for the good of the church and community. She will be greatly missed by all.
