CLARENCE EDWARD GROSS

Clarence Edward Gross, son of Jesse Edward and Ada Burdick Gross was born in Poweshiek county, Iowa February 2, 1910 and passed away at Grinnell, Iowa July 26, 1952 at the age of 42 years, 5 months and 24 days.

He attended rual school in Poweshiek county and Grinnell high school.

On March 22, 1930 he was married to Amy Lillian Miller. To this union five children were born, Richard, Glorianne, Ronald, Roland and David Gross.

Mr. Gross was a member of the Newburg Congregational church. He was a devoted husband and father. He farmed in Poweshiek and Jasper county until his death.

He was a member and worked in all community functions until the last year when ill health prevented him from taking an active part.

He leaves to mourn his loss, besides his wife, five children and parents, two sisters, Mrs. Ellis Brown of Grinnell, Mrs. Craig Stanley of Montezuma, one brother Cloyd Gross of Grinnell and many friends and relatives.

Funeral services were held at the Smith funeral home, Grinnell, Iowa on Monday afternoon, July 28 at 2:00 o'clock.

The officiating minister was Stephen J. Epler. He was laid to rest in Hazelwood cemetery.
