WILLIAM LYNCH FUNERAL WEDNESDAY

William Wesley Lynch was born in Sheridan township March 28, 1870, and departed this life at his home in Grinnell March 22, aged 60 years, 11 months and 24 days.

He was united in marriage to Susie Winburn April 30, 1912. To this union were born three children, Benita, aged 18, Ben Wesley aged 16, and James Henry, 12, all at home. He leaves to mourn his passing beside his immediate family, two brothers, E.F. and J.M. Lynch, both of Grinnell. Also three half-brothers, C.V. Lynch of Grinnell, John Lynch of Des Moines and Glenn Lynch of Marshalltown, and his step-mother, Mrs. Martha Campbell of Grinnell, also one aunt, Mrs. Elizabeth Lynch, and six cousins.

William Lynch had lived in Sheridan township from the time of his birth until two years ago, when he moved onto a farm five miles southeast of Grinnell where he lived until February of 1931, when he and his family moved into Grinnell. He was a member of the Sheridan I.O.O.F. Lodge since its organization and maintained an honorable membership, endeavoring to exemplify the great principles of the order, friendship, love and truth in his life.

During his long illness he enjoyed the excellent fellowship of his brethren. He had always shown himself a brother, going out of his way to extend a kindness whenever he could in times of distress or need, never claiming for himself any special goodness, but a desire to help another fellowman, this was his reward. The words of the Master must have found a place in his soul, "In as much as you have done these things to others, you have done it unto Me." William Lynch will be missed by a large numer of old friends.

The funeral services were held in the Sheridan M.E. church, conducted by Rev. H.L. Wissler of Chester Center, and the body was laid to rest in the family lot in Sheridan Center.

The Sheridan I.O.O.F. gave the ritual burial service of the order at the grave.

Pall bearers, all cousins of the deceased, were John Lynch, Tom Lynch, Ernie Lynch, Truman Lynch, Frank Hixson and Frank Stecker,
