MALCOM NEWS

Mr. A.C. Blizzard, after an illness of several months, died Sunday morning at ten o'clock. Mr. Blizzard had a slight stroke of paralysis last fall, from which he never entirely recovered. We extend our greatest sympathy to the sorrowing ones.

Augustus Charles Blizzard was born in Baltimore, Md., Dec. 25, 1838, and departed this life March 14, 1909, aged seventy years, two months and seventeen days. He was united in marriage in 1861 to Margaret Clementine Ayers. The same year he entered the army as a private and at the close of the war was a lieutenant on the staff of General McPherson. One of his greatest pleasures was to rehearse army life to his comrades. He was post master at Malcom for about seven years. The funeral services took place at the Presbyterian church, March 15, Rev. A.F. Eldridge, officiating. Interment was made at Wilton, Iowa, March 16. His wife, son and four daughters are left to mourn his loss.
