ARLO WORTH
Arlo "Bud" Worth, 91, of Grinnell died Wednesday, Jan. 23, at St. Francis Manor.
A graveside service was conducted Saturday at Silent City Cemetery, Monroe, with the Rev. Del Dawes, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. The Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
The son of George and Dottie Fay Waring Worth, he was born Sept. 27, 1910, in Monroe. He was a 1929 graduate of Monroe High School.
He was married to Ruth M. North Sept. 20, 1935, in Red Oak. The couple lived in Pella and Indianola prior to moving to Grinnell in 1940.
Mr. Worth was a shop foreman with Grinnell Implement Store until his retirement in 1988. He had been a resident of St. Francis Manor since 1999. He was a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Janet Boliver of Wichita, Kan.; one granddaughter; one brother, Blake of Grinnell; and two sisters, Corene Illian of Grinnell and Aldean Carter of Hiawatha.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two sisters.
