ELDRED BOLIVER, 45, SUCCUMBS SUNDAY, RITES ON TUESDAY
Eldred D. Boliver, 45, of Rte, 3, Grinnell, died Sunday morning at a local hospital following an extended illness.
Funeral services are to be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday from the James-Schalinske Funeral Home. The Rev. Wayne Shireman, pastor of the First Baptist church, will officiate. Interment will be in Waveland cemetery at Prairie City.
The son of Arthur and Leona Winegar Bolivar, he was born on June 29th, 1920, at Runnells, Iowa. He received his first year of education at the Runnells schools and then his parents moved to Prairie City. He attended the rural schools of that community and graduated from Prairie City high school in 1937.
On June 4th, 1944, he was united in marriage with Hazel Birkenholtz at her family home in Prairie City. They farmed in the Prairie City community until 1951 when they moved to the Newburg area and continued farming.
He was a member of the Newburg Congregational church.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel, two sons, Gary and Gail; a daughter, Cynthia; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Boliver of Prairie City, two sisters, Mrs. Vernice Danley of Prairie City and Mrs. Evelyn Wagner of Des Moines.
