KITCHEL ANDRE RITES THURSDAY

Kitchel F. Andre, 95, died Tuesday afternoon, June 24, at Friendship Manor.

Graveside services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Rock Creek Cemetery, with the Rev. Philip J. Ramstad, pastor of the Grinnell United Church of Christ-Congregational, officiating. Friends may call the Smith Funeral Home for additional information.

The daughter of James Burton and Mary Ellen James Adkins, she was born on Nov. 5, 1890, at Bloomington, Wis.

She received a B.A. degree from Grinnell College in 1916 and a master's degree in library science from the University of Illinois.

She lived in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids, working as a teacher and librarian. She had been a resident of Friendship Manor since 1964. While in Grinnell she was a member of the United Church of Christ-Congregational.

There are no immediate survivors. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Horace James Adkins; and two sisters, Helen Bartlett and Ruth Adkins.
