HAVE ANSWERED "TAPS"
Wm. H. Kimbley and Abraham Wilson, Veterans of Civil War, Are Gone
Poweshiek county has lost two splendid citizens in the last fortnight, William H. Kimbley and Abraham Wilson, veteran "boys in Blue," having answered the last call of taps.
Abraham Wilson, who was born September 18, 1840, at North Madison, Indiana, died at Barnes City, March 26, 1922, aged 81 years, 6 months, 8 days, after a long life of Christian service in the community. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church of Barnes City with the American Legion as pallbearers and bodyguard. He is survived and mourned by five children, Martha, of Barnes City, who has kept the home since her mother's death in 1907; Mrs. Hannah Sanders, James and Joseph, of Barnes City; and Fred, of Oskaloosa.
