Wm. H. Kimbley and Abraham Wilson, Veterans of Civil War, Are Gone
Poweshiek county has lost two splendid citizens in the last fortnight, William H. Kimbley and Abraham Wilson, veteran "boys in blue," having answered the last call of taps.
William H. Kimbley, a pioneer resident, was born in Lawrence county, Indiana, September 15, 1840, and died at this home in the Poweshiek county seat April 1, 1922, aged 81 years, 6 months, 16 days. He was a member of Company A, 24th Indiana volunteers and moved to this county soon after the close of the war. He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, three sons, Orrin, Charles, and Homer, of Montezuma, and one daughter, Mrs. Bertha Douglass, of Mitchell, Nebraska.
